EDGE of Success

I really appreciate your interest in my WorkbenchCon 2025 expert desk presentation. Whether you attend the live session, read about elsewhere or came upon a video that directed you here, I invite you to peruse the articles I prepared for the presentation and I encourage you to contact me if you have questions, or comments about my presentation or my business.

Instead of handouts, I posted these articles on the two main topics of my presentation. The EDGE Method and SMART Goals.

The Scouting movement began in England over a century ago and quickly spread around the world. You could say it went viral before such a thing was even imagined. When I became a scout leader in 2013, the methods of teaching and planning that weave themselves into all aspects of scouting impressed me immediately. When the call for presentations went out for WorkbenchCon, I responded with my proposal for this presentation.

About Me and Scouting

My father earned his Eagle Scout in the 1940s. Though we never joined a unit, Dad’s style of parenting looked a lot like the patrol method. My brother and I frequently went into the wilderness together unknowingly using the buddy system. I completed my scoutmaster training when my son joined our troop. I served in multiple positions from Assistant Scoutmaster to Scoutmaster and currently serve as the Charter Organization Representative. I also wear other hats in my local council as a merit badge counselor, adult trainer and Unit Commissioner. I also completed my tickets in 2015 to earn my Wood Badge.

I hope you find the article links above helpful (third point of the Scout Law). Remember to be prepared and do a good turn daily.
